Write the question and answers once and see where the poll fits as it is — X and Threads allow 25 characters per answer, LinkedIn 30, YouTube 65. For posts without a poll, copy a vote-in-the-comments version. Checked on this page; nothing is sent.
Counted cautiously: an emoji counts as 2 characters, as on X. No platform says how it counts emoji in poll answers.

Write a caption that starts a conversation
Polls get answers; captions get conversations. Snapshot's Engage goal writes a caption built to get replies — a question, a this-or-that, a vote in the comments.
Snapshot opens with the Engage goal picked. What each plan includes: see pricing.
Open SnapshotChecks one poll — the question and up to six answers — against the poll limits each platform publishes: how many answers, how long each can be, how long the question can be and how long it runs. Where a platform publishes no limit, it says so instead of guessing.
A red cross means the poll won't fit as written on that platform — usually an answer over 25 characters for X and Threads. A grey mark means the platform doesn't publish that limit (Instagram's story sticker, Facebook groups), so check it in the app.
X: 2 to 4 answers of up to 25 characters, running from 5 minutes to 7 days. Threads: up to 4 answers of 25 characters, open for 24 hours. LinkedIn: a question of up to 140 characters and answers of up to 30.
YouTube community posts take up to 4 text answers of 65 characters. Mastodon's default is 4 answers of 50, though each server can set its own. Instagram and Facebook don't publish their poll sticker or group poll limits.
A poll is the lowest-effort way for a follower to answer you — one tap. It tells you what your audience wants and gives the post interactions early.
Instagram's story poll sticker and Facebook's group polls have no published limits, so none are shown. Bluesky has no native polls; TikTok documents its voting sticker for ads only.
