Do I need to sign up to use CAPTD?

Accepted Answer

No — you can generate Content Packs in any workspace (Snapshot, Video, Slideshow, Marketing) with no signup, no login, and no email required. Signing up is entirely optional and only unlocks one feature: History, which saves your generated Content Packs to your account so you can revisit them and access them across devices. If you never sign up, CAPTD works exactly the same for generation — you just won't have a saved history to look back on.

Question 2

How do I sign up, and will I lose the Content Packs I already generated?

From the History page, sign up with an email and password, or continue with Google, Facebook or Apple — whichever you use, any Content Packs you already generated anonymously carry over automatically onto the new account, nothing is lost or reset.

From the History page, use the "Already have an account? Log in" link below the sign-up options — it works with email/password or with Google, Facebook or Apple, same as signing up.

Why did you build CAPTD?

Because social media is one of the biggest pain points in photography. According to Format's 2026 State of the Photography Industry survey, 56% of Format's surveyed photographers say they want help with social media, and 31% call it one of the most stressful parts of running their business. 60% of Format's surveyed photographers said AI could specifically help with social media planning — which is exactly where CAPTD comes in.

What's in a Content Pack?

A caption, image-aware hashtags, a matching royalty-free music suggestion, a description, a platform-specific hook, alt text, and a voiceover script — tailored to your chosen tone, style, platform and language.

Which platforms are supported?

Accepted Answer

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Facebook and Pinterest — each with output tailored to that platform's conventions, not one generic caption reused everywhere. (YouTube Shorts is available in the Snapshot, Video and Slideshow workspaces; Pinterest is only available in the Marketing workspace; YouTube — the long-form platform — needs an actual video, so it's only available in the Video and Marketing workspaces, not Snapshot or Slideshow. The Slideshow workspace supports Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.)

What languages does CAPTD support?

English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified). Everything in a Content Pack generates in your selected language.

What's the difference between the 4 workspaces?

CAPTD has 4 dedicated workspaces, each built around a different primary input: Snapshot (a photo, single or in a batch), Video (a video, up to 10 minutes), Slideshow (2–10 photos and/or videos in order, for a connected per-slide caption), and Marketing (no photo or video — just a quick business profile). All 4 also accept optional typed text or a voice note as extra context on top of that primary input, and all produce the same kind of Content Pack, tailored to each workspace's format.

What is the Marketing workspace?

A dedicated workspace for photography businesses running paid campaigns — no photo or video needed. You fill in a 7-field business profile (target audience, product/service, campaign goal, key message, call to action, offer, brand tone), and CAPTD shifts every field toward promotion — benefit-led hooks and captions, buyer-relevant hashtags, and a standalone CTA line — instead of personal storytelling. You can still add optional typed text or a voice note on top of the profile.

What is the Slideshow workspace?

A dedicated workspace for multi-slide posts: upload photos and/or videos in order and CAPTD writes one caption per slide, forming a connected story as people swipe, plus one overall caption for the whole post. Available on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, each with its own slide-count and photo/video rules — Instagram and Facebook allow 2–10 mixed photo-and-video slides; TikTok needs 4–10 photo-only slides; YouTube Shorts allows up to 10 photo-only slides. A Stories toggle is also available for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, for shorter, more casual copy suited to a Stories post.

Why is video only supported on some Slideshow platforms?

It follows each platform's own technical format. Instagram and Facebook's Content Publishing API supports mixing photos and videos within the same carousel post, so we allow it there. TikTok's Photo Mode carousel and YouTube's image-carousel format are both photo-only at the platform level — there's no video slide to upload even if we wanted to support it — so CAPTD blocks video uploads for those two platforms rather than letting you build something that won't actually publish.

Can I edit or regenerate individual fields?

Yes. Every field in a Content Pack has its own Copy, Edit and Regenerate controls, so you can tweak just the hashtags or ask for a fresh caption without redoing the whole pack.

What is Creator Voice?

An optional feature that learns your natural speaking style from voiceover recordings you make in the app, then nudges future captions and scripts to sound more like you.

Can I generate content from a video?

Accepted Answer

Yes — upload a video (up to 10 minutes) and CAPTD analyzes both what's shown on screen and any speech, then compresses it automatically in your browser before upload so it stays fast even on a slower connection.

Do you compress my photos and videos?

Accepted Answer

Yes, automatically, before upload. Photos are resized and re-encoded for the copy CAPTD analyzes — it never touches the original file on your device, so nothing you later post is affected. The same applies to video.

Can I generate multiple posts at once?

Yes — Batch mode lets you upload several photos and generate a separate, independent Content Pack for each one, then export the results as a CSV.

What is Creator Suite?

A bundle of 4 extra tools for the Snapshot workspace. Multi-Version Generation writes 2-3 full alternative content packs per photo — not just a different caption, a genuinely different pack each time — so you can pick and mix the best hook, caption, hashtags and more from each version. Location & Shooting Insights surfaces useful details straight from your photo's EXIF data, like moon phase, effective focal length, and long-exposure or night-shot detection. Saved Hashtag Banks let you save and reuse your own named hashtag sets instead of retyping them every time. And the Content Calendar suggests a simple weekly posting plan based on your own recent generation history. It's included free with Solo and Studio, and available on Creator and Pro as a +€7 one-time bundle, or individual features from €2 each (one-time, expires with your credits).

What is the AI Photography Assistant?

A separate set of tools at /tools for analysing your own photos — not part of Content Pack generation. Four tools (Sharpness, Exposure and Colour analysis, and a Lens & Settings Recommender) run entirely in your browser and are free and unlimited for everyone. Three tools (Composition Analysis, Scene Recognition and Editing Suggestions) use Google Gemini vision, are limited to 30 combined analyses per month, and — once paid plans launch — are part of a paid add-on (see below).

Is the AI Photography Assistant free?

During the current beta, yes, for everyone. Once paid plans launch, the four browser-only tools stay free and unlimited on every plan; the three AI-vision tools are bundled free with Pro, Solo and Studio, and available as a +€2.50 add-on on Creator (one-time, expires with your credits).

Yes. The Free Beta gives you 3 Content Packs for Instagram with no account required. Paid plans unlock more platforms, batch upload and more packs.

What's the difference between one-time packs and subscriptions?

Accepted Answer

Starter, Creator and Pro are one-time purchases — buy a set number of Content Packs and use them whenever. Solo and Studio are monthly subscriptions with a recurring pack allowance and extra features like unlimited batch uploads and priority support.

Do credits expire?

One-time Content Pack credits stay valid for 6 months from purchase. Subscriptions renew monthly and keep going as long as you're subscribed.

How much does the Marketing workspace cost, and is Slideshow included?

Both are free for everyone during the current beta. Once paid plans launch: the Marketing workspace is bundled free with Solo and Studio, and available as a +€5 one-time add-on on Pro (expires with your credits) — Free Beta, Starter and Creator don't get it at all. Slideshow works differently — it's bundled free (no extra charge) with Creator, Pro, Solo and Studio plans; Free Beta gets one free taste generation, and Starter doesn't include it at all.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, once subscriptions launch — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, with no pro-rata refund for unused time within that period. No paid plans are chargeable during the current beta.

Do you train AI models on my photos?

Accepted Answer

No. We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal data to third parties.

What happens to my uploaded photos and videos?

Accepted Answer

They're used to generate your Content Pack, then automatically deleted within 90 days — you don't need to do anything. Your generated captions and text history stay available for as long as your session is active. Photos analysed by the AI Photography Assistant's Composition Analysis, Scene Recognition or Editing Suggestions tools are deleted immediately after that analysis, not kept for 90 days.

Can I delete my data myself?

Yes — go to the Privacy Policy page and use the "Delete my data now" button under Your Rights Under GDPR. It immediately and permanently deletes every photo, video, generation, review and consent record tied to your session — no waiting, no email required.
