Etsy Fee Calculator

Every fee Etsy's own policy lists for one order — listing, 6.5% transaction, payment processing for your country, the regulatory fee, Offsite Ads, currency conversion and VAT on fees — what you keep, and the price that leaves the profit you want. Rates checked on 21 October 2026; worked out on this page.

How to use this

What it does

Adds up Etsy's fees for one order from Etsy's own fees policy: the 0.20 USD listing fee (per item sold), the 6.5% transaction fee on item, shipping and gift wrap, payment processing at your country's rate on the whole order, the regulatory operating fee where Etsy charges one, Offsite Ads when the sale came from an Etsy ad, currency conversion and VAT on fees. Then it takes away your costs and finds the price for the profit you want.

What you'll need

  • Where your shop is
  • The item price, quantity, shipping and gift wrap you charge
  • Your cost to make it and the postage you pay

Steps

  1. Pick your shop's country and enter the listing fee in your currency.
  2. Enter the order and your costs.
  3. Read the fees line by line, then set the profit you want to see the price you need.

Reading the result

'Etsy pays you' is what reaches your payment account for the order. 'Your profit' takes off your own cost and postage. Offsite Ads apply only to an order that came through one of Etsy's ads on another site.

Tips

  • Run it at the price you plan to discount to, not just the full price.
  • Shipping is charged fees too — a big shipping charge costs you 6.5% plus processing.
  • Sellers in VAT countries without a VAT ID pay VAT on top of every fee.

What are Etsy's fees?

Every sale on Etsy pays: a listing fee of 0.20 USD (per listing and renewal, and again for each extra item sold), a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price, shipping and gift wrap, and a payment processing fee that depends on your country — for example 3% + 0.25 USD in the US, 4% + 0.20 GBP in the UK and 4% + 0.30 EUR in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands — charged on the whole order, tax included.

Depending on the shop and sale there's also a regulatory operating fee (for example 0.48% in the UK, 1.14% in France), Offsite Ads (15%, or 12% for shops over 10,000 USD a year, capped at 100 USD per order), a 2.5% currency conversion fee and VAT on fees. Canada: 3% + 0.25 CAD for orders from Canada and the US, 4% + 0.25 CAD for other countries. Australia: 3% + 0.25 AUD for orders from Australia, 4% + 0.25 AUD for international ones.

Why sellers use it

Fees add up to 10–20% of an order, more with Offsite Ads. A price that looks profitable before fees can lose money after them.

Common mistakes

  • Forgetting fees on shipping. the transaction and processing fees include what you charge for shipping.
  • Leaving out Offsite Ads. a sale from an ad can cost 12–15% more.
  • Counting VAT as income. VAT you charge isn't yours, and Etsy may add VAT to its own fees.
