Check a Canvas against the rules Spotify publishes — 9:16, 720–1080 px tall, 3–8 seconds, MP4 or JPG — or make one from a video or a photo. It's all done in your browser; your file is never uploaded.
Checked and made entirely in your browser — your file is never uploaded anywhere.
Your video or photo is read, cropped and encoded in your browser. It is never uploaded or stored by CAPTD.
Promote it with Spotlight
Canvas uploaded? Spotlight writes the release posts — captions, hashtags and platform versions — to send people to the track.

Open SpotlightChecks a file against Spotify's published Canvas rules: MP4 or JPG, a 9:16 vertical shape, 720–1080 px tall and 3–8 seconds long. The maker crops a video or photo to 9:16 and encodes a silent 594 × 1056 H.264 MP4 at 30 fps in your browser — as a plain or a rebound loop for video, with an optional slow zoom for a photo.
Each row is a published Spotify rule. Spotify warns that an upload can fail if the size or length is even slightly off, so the shape check allows no more than a pixel either way.
A Canvas is the short looping vertical video (or still) that plays behind a track in the Spotify mobile app. Artists add it to a track in Spotify for Artists — including upcoming releases.
Spotify publishes the shape (9:16), the height (720–1080 px), the length (3–8 seconds) and the formats (MP4 or JPG). It doesn't publish a width, a frame rate, a file size limit or whether sound is used.
A Canvas turns a still cover into something that moves while people listen. Getting the size and length exactly right avoids a failed upload on release week.
