Write posts that bring in clients

Booked clients love to be featured. With their permission, upload a photo from the shoot to Spotlight's Get clients mode and CAPTD writes posts for every platform that bring in the next booking.

Get clients is a mode of the Spotlight workspace on CAPTD's paid plans — see pricing.

How to use this

What it does

Starts you off with a tested set of questions for a wedding, a portrait session or a product shoot — the people, timings, places, must-have shots, style and practical details a photographer needs — and lets you rewrite, remove or add any of them before you send it.

What you'll need

  • The kind of shoot.
  • Optionally, the client's name.
  • Any questions of your own.

Steps

  1. Pick Wedding, Portrait or Product.
  2. Edit the title, introduction and questions; remove what you don't need and add your own.
  3. Download the PDF to print or attach, or copy the questions into an email or an online form.

Reading the result

Questions are numbered in order across the sections. Empty sections are left out of the PDF and the copied text.

Tips

  • Send it two to four weeks before the shoot — late enough that plans are made, early enough to act on the answers.
  • For weddings, the family group list saves the most time on the day: ask for it in order, with names.
  • Keep it short. If a question never changes how you shoot, remove it.

What is a photography client questionnaire?

A list of questions a photographer sends a booked client before the shoot: who will be there, when and where things happen, which shots matter most, what style they like, and anything that could get in the way.

Wedding questionnaires are about timings and people; portrait questionnaires about purpose, style and comfort; product briefs about brand, channels and the exact images needed.

Why photographers use it

The answers turn into a shot list and a schedule, so nothing important is missed and the day runs on time. It also tells the client you've thought about their day — which is part of why they booked you.

Common mistakes

  • Sending it too late. two days before, there's no time to scout a location or reorder the day.
  • Too many questions. a long form gets half-answered. Remove anything that won't change how you shoot.
  • Not asking about restrictions. venue photography rules and family tensions are the two surprises that cost the most shots.

FAQ

What should I ask in a wedding photography questionnaire?
The timeline and locations, the planner's and vendors' contacts, the wedding party, an ordered list of family groups, must-have shots, important details, and anything to avoid. The Wedding template covers all of these.
Can I turn it into an online form?
Yes — copy the questions and paste them into Google Forms, Typeform, Jotform or your studio software; each line is one question.
Can I save my edited version?
Download the PDF or copy the text and keep that. The page doesn't store your edits, so reloading starts from the template again.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The questionnaire and the PDF are made in your browser, and nothing is sent to CAPTD.
